Jim Speer was born, without benefit of Congressional representation,
in Washington D.C. In the ensuing years he grew larger, and was moved
to Cambridge, and then Waltham, MA. Thankfully, he eventually realized the
thing to do was play saxophone and clarinets in the Waltham school system
music department for years and years, which was accomplished. After that,
he took a degree in music composition at
Haverford College, near Philadelphia,
PA, under the advisement of music professors whose careers and repute can
surely prosper without requiring mention here. He now plays in Philadelphia
electro-folk band Broadside Electric, noise/performance art group
UNSOUND, and spacey looping duo
Invasion of Time.
Also several other musical projects cooking, including work with tall and
talented New York writer Ellis Avery.
